Our Philosophy

“Every room should be a joy to live in”

Modern life is busier than ever, so a home should be a welcome retreat, offering a feeling of peace and ease whilst reflecting lifestyle and personality. We are passionate about enhancing spaces through creative and sustainable measures, and strive to ensure that each is as unique and interesting as the individuals they are intended for. Oudejans Interiors is known for its cool, contemporary aesthetic, mixing materials like glass, metal, stone and wood, to create an edgy yet elegant vibe. Thrown in are playful accents and lively patterns to add warmth and intrigue.

Our Process

To get started, please get in touch. You will be sent a brief form to complete and then an initial consultation (either virtually or in-person) will be set up where we can examine your project in-depth and gather further information. The meeting is followed up with a summary and suggestions on how best to proceed.

Consultations are either 45 minutes or 2 hours in length and provide an opportunity to address your design dilemmas in detail. We also offer a one room makeover package as well as a full-service option. In this instance, the preliminary phase of the design process will be followed by several meetings where we develop the design and then (with the appropriate tradespeople), implement it.

Our Team

Peter Oudejans ~ Director

Peter Oudejans Director of Biophilic Interior Design Studio

Born and raised in Canada and having lived in Amsterdam, New York and now London, Peter has a genuine enjoyment of the outdoors combined with an appreciation of architecture, culture and travel.

With degrees in both Interior Design (New York School of Interior Design) and Psychology (York University), Peter has a real passion for interiors and interacting with people. His other true love is gardening which he has done from an early age and has now incorporated into the company’s design ethos through Biophilia. With an emphasis on bringing wellness into the home through a connection with nature, biophilic design was a natural step in the studio’s evolution.

Peter has previously worked for two renowned designers before setting up his own practice in 2010. Aside from residential properties (both large and small), Oudejans Interiors has designed the Interior Designers of Canada booth at the largest annual trade show (IDS2014) in Toronto. The firm has also undertaken some small-scale commercial projects as well as fabricating custom furniture for client projects.

Peter is a SBID Accredited Designer and has a RHS Level 2 Diploma in the Principles and Practices of Horticulture.

Lisa Edwards ~ Associate Director

Lisa Edwards Associate Director of Biophilic Interior Design Studio

Born and raised in England, Lisa now lives in London after spending time in New York. She lives in a busy household with husband, two daughters and a super sweet dog called Jasper!

A degree in geography (University of Wales) set in motion a life-long interest in the natural world and how people interact with it and use the space around them. Lisa has spent many years managing properties, both town and country, and understanding how homes are organic spaces that evolve constantly with the needs of their inhabitants. She feels more strongly than ever that nature is a key feature of interior design and this has led her to study biophilic design in more detail.

Lisa is thoroughly experienced in project management, having completed several property renovations. She undertook a three year upholstery course (London Metropolitan University), fulfilling her passion for working with fabrics and textiles. Upon completion, she was awarded the Yeoman Upholder distinction for outstanding upholstery with The Worshipful Company of Upholders.

Lisa also has a Diploma of Interior Design from the Interior Design Institute.
